The Beatles: The Truth Behind Some Of The Songs Which Made The Group Famous

Let it Be

And when the broken hearted people
Living in the world agree,
There will be an answer, let it be.
For though they may be parted there is
Still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.

Paul McCartney who wrote this song was inspired by his mother. Many people thought “Mother Mary” was a biblical reference when they heard it. But Paul’s mother was also named Mary, and she died when he was young boy. McCartney had a dream one night when he was paranoid and anxious. He saw his mom, she came to him in his time of trouble, speaking words of wisdom. This brought him much peace when he needed it. It was this dream that got him to begin writing the song. This song was played at Linda McCartney’s funeral.
